Editorial Assessment
Similar to a developmental edit, but with a wider lens. This service takes one step back from developmental editing in order to focus on the manuscript’s big-picture needs.
This is a great choice for authors who have completed a manuscript but aren’t quite ready for a full deep-dive, or who just want a general idea of what direction to take the next draft in.

All feedback is designed to be constructive—not just pointing out issues, but offering guidance on how to solve them.
Payment plans are available upon request.
Deliverables:
An editorial letter of 5–30 pages detailing my feedback and recommendations regarding your manuscript’s next steps
includes a section on the things I feel you’re doing well as an author
(if you prefer to have scene-level feedback rather than broad, story-level feedback, you can opt to receive marginal comments instead of the letter)
One optional 30-minute meeting over phone, Zoom, etc. during which we can discuss the manuscript and/or my feedback
this can be done either before or after the edit
Editor availability for eight weeks after, to answer any questions or concerns about the edits.
“When I received my editorial letter, it wasn’t just detailed and thorough—it was filled with reassurance that he believes in me. Every comment he left, every suggestion he made, showed that he wasn’t just editing my manuscript—he was invested in it. I can tell that his feedback doesn’t come from a place of criticism but from his own passion for storytelling. He genuinely cares, not just about making my book better, but about making me a stronger writer. ”
