Line Editing
While copyediting is more technical, line editing is more artistic. It’s less about “fixing” errors and more about improving readability for your readers. Perhaps a sentence’s meaning is unclear and needs to be rephrased, a word choice could be stronger, or a couple of lines should be flipped. I’ll go line by line and make adjustments with a focus on clarity, flow, word choice, tone, and more—all while maintaining your unique voice!
This is a great choice for authors who feel like they write a clean copy but want to ensure everything translates well from the page to the reader.

“I cannot understate the value that finding the right editor has brought to my manuscript. I can say quite honestly that Alex Kempsell has been, by far, the best investment for my story. He’s worked within my means by helping me split the cost and work of my manuscript into smaller segments, provided a sample edit to give me a chance to review his work, asked thoughtful questions, provided insightful commentary, and even provided editorial letters at my request to help identify areas where my work could use improvements. He’s also balanced constructive critiques with positive reinforcements and feedback (something most authors will agree we often desperately crave).”
